The Geeveston Christmas parade and carols evening was a lovely event, as usual. Most of the population of the town seemed to be in the parade and it went for quite a while. We all chose to watch it together this year; in previous years some or all of us have been in it. It gave us the chance to see and talk to lots of friends as well. The children were really excited to see Santa come to town, which he did, on a ride on lawn mower!
The children received quite a lot of lollies during the parade – so did the adults, come to think of it! Afterwards we went to Heritage Park, where we caught up with lots of friends, listened to carols, played with friends and eat ice cream.
And of course, we got to see Santa!
And at the end of the evening we had three very tired little children and two tired parents. It was totally worth it – it is always such a special night, when the whole community comes together in this way and the atmosphere in the town is really positive and cheerful.
