Endofyearitis

Published by Rebecca on December 17, 2011

I assure you I’m still here!

It’s a busy time in our household. The children are now on summer holidays – for 8 weeks! I finish work next week but I am in holiday mode.

We’re getting ready for Christmas. The children are doing lots of crafts and activities. They don’t watch any tv, apart from a film, occasionally. In fact, our tv antenna appears to have broken in a storm we had last month – it took us a fortnight before we noticed it!

A few weekends ago I gave the children a box and some cardboard cylinders and our craft box. This is what they made. It certainly kept them busy for most of the day!

They also sewed some felt Christmas ornaments:

And made some rudolfs:

And some snowmen (which was completely matthew’s idea and design!):

So we have been busy. I love it that my children would rather do crafts – which they will happily do for hours at a time – or play outside than want to watch tv. In fact, if I suggest they watch a film, they see it as a punishment and start to revolt. It’s one of the reasons I feel so busy and tired, but I think it’s a good way for them to be. They are very excited about Christmas!

Today’s activity will be to paint and decorate the salt dough decorations that we made yesterday!

What Christmas crafts have you/your children been doing?
