Today was a good day. I am happy. The weather has been so delightful lately: sunny and warm. Here, warm is in the low 20s, but it is very pleasant indeed. I like the way the sun streams in through our windows and doors. It makes this little cabin bearable. Except wasps come inside on days like these. They seem harmless enough.
Today I started my day in my usual way: slow. I love my lazy mornings with my lazy coffees (yes, two flat whites before I get dressed). I like starting my day with some pampering. I like taking it slow because the rest of the day is always go-go-go – right until the children are asleep, and then some!
When I was finally ready Georgia and I headed to town. We went to the online centre, where GG played Elmo’s World whilst I tried to figure out my photo gallery (still figuring it out). Afterwards we went to the Southern Design Centre, which is a locally run store that stocks some (not all) locally made wares. I wanted a tea pot. My tea pots are packed in the containter. Monte and I are drinking so much tea now that Monte loves the stuff! I found a pretty blue teapot. It’s made in Vietnam. I’d like there to have been a locally made teapot there, but I was out of luck. After our shopping spree (I also bought wool, a t-shirt and a hairclip) we had lunch at the local corner store. It has been a long time since my daughter and I had a special outing like that!
What made the day even better was that Monte and Matthew were out when Georgia and I got home, so Georgia and I rested on my bed watching a dvd. When the boys did come home, I spent the rest of the afternoon doing crafts with Georgia whilst Matty roamed around playing with random toys, the way he tends to.
Ahhh. The satisfaction of having a great day. Tomorrow we have some friends coming over, and then we are meeting friends at the Taste of the Huon over the weekend. We are feeling happier now we have made some lovely friends. We have met some wonderful people down here. We have made some great connections.
We are feeling very happy.
Hiya! those days are nice aren’t they? On the third Monday of the school term Grace had a mental health day as she ws soooooo incredibly tired from the first 2 weeks at school. She and I went to see a movie (enchanted) and we just enjoyed the day together.
Great that you are starting to meet people and settle in down there in Tasland.
Miss you guys
Andrew
