the blanket is already popular with the children!
I am still loving this crochet ripplealong. I’m loving the feed on Instagram too. I think it is great that people from around the planet can come together through technology and do something together, like this ripplealong and many other similar things that I have seen going on online as well. Thank you Mel!
adding a bit of colour on the sofa
My blanket is now four pattern repeats. It is 140cm wide and 90cm long. It will end up being either 115cm or 140cm long, depending on when I run out of yarn.
Something has happened to my crochet though. As I am going along, my crochet is becoming tighter! I tend to crochet loosely, but maybe because I had not crocheted for a while, my stitching at the beginning was even looser than usual. It’s probably not enough of a big deal for me to have to upsize my hook though.
Three things I love about this blanket:
1) it gives me something to focus on and create, which is great for my state of mind
2) the process of crocheting is so rhythmical and soothing, it has helped me sleep better
3) it keeps me warm; a cosy sense that I am creating something that others will (hopefully) enjoy as much as I do. Will this blanket last long enough to be something that my grandchildren snuggle under? (Ok that was weird.)
Thanks Suzan!
It’s really tricky for me now, trying to work out if I have enough in each ball of yarn for one colour band or two! X
This work is growing so very fast indeed. I am glad your children like to wrap themselves in it. I am in the when the wool finishes club too.
