Fabric Friday… Distracted

Today I am wearing a skirt I made last summer. I have shared about this fabric before: it is bright and summery and I wear this skirt often.

But that’s not really what I am writing about today. You see, I’ve been a bit distracted lately and I haven’t been delving into my fabric stash to make lovely creations for a while. I haven’t been crocheting or knitting either. In fact, apart from a bit of drawing and a lot of cooking, I’ve not been very creative. And this is something I have to change, because I feel it in my bones that I have to make something.

It is so good for my mood to create, whether it is a tiny crochet flower or a decent piece of clothing for somebody in my family. I am sitting on the couch in the sunny lounge room, with my cup of tea and quiet, because Elora is sleeping. I love these moments I steal for myself. I can hear Monte tapping away at his computer, and the wind chimes chiming and the birds squawking and the rooster crowing.

I am distracted by plans. Plans for crafty projects; plans for dinner; plans for the weekend; plans for my best friend’s visit; plans for travel; plans for my garden; and plans for my study nook (decision is made! But you have to wait and see).

Some of my crafty plans include: pants and skirt for my newest niece; crochet blanket; crochet birdies; knitted beanies; crochet scarf; patchwork throw; and dolls clothes and blankets for my baby-obsessed toddler.

And soon, when my tea is finished, instead of cleaning up the kitchen I am going to begin something.
