I have a collection of vintage table cloths and this is one of my favorites. The embroidery has been done by machine but the work is very nice and I like the pink flowers. I like pink. I like flowers. No surprises there.
I once imagined that I would cut up these pretty pieces of fabric, to use to make toys, dolls clothes etc, but I couldn’t cut this up. We use it quite often – so often that I didn’t even bother ironing it.
I’ve said this before but I really like thrifted fabrics, especially the pieces that have been handmade. I like using the old textiles around the home, whether it’s an unironed tablecloth covering the kids’ table, a mismatched set of serviettes to go with a mismatched set of side plates, or an embroidered hand towel for my children to wipe their little hands on. At a time when my craft output is suffering, I find a bit of joy when I enjoy things that other people have made.
Have a good weekend :)
