The thing is, I love giving handmade gifts. I like making stuff.
Georgia is going to one of her best friend’s party on the weekend. Her friend is also interested in sewing.
I used a pattern from ‘Zakka Style.’ it was easy. I enjoy appliqué, but until a few months ago I had never tried it! It is so easy. I often machine stitch my appliqué but it is equally easy to hand stitch in a variety of ways.
Anyway, Georgia sewed on the buttons – I suggested it is nice to make things for our friends. She enjoyed it. She did a good job.
I love this purse. I used vintage fabric and vintage lace. I think it’s really cute and I plan to make one for Georgia, although she would like a pillow instead. Even easier!
Probably the most fun thing about this purse is that I actually finally sewed something again! I’ve been pretty busy lately, but busy is good. I am happy when I am busy. Tired, but happy.
Today, my day went like this: I left home at 7:45 and drove for half an hour, dropped Ella off at Childcare (she cried, which was unusual for her, and made me sad); I worked and then picked up my baby at 4pm, gave her a cuddle and a breastfeed at Childcare; went to the supermarket with her; drove home; ate dinner prepared by my amazing husband; made minestrone, cleaned the kitchen, read stories to my children, fed the baby again and then put my children to bed. Then I finished the purse and now I am here, watching ‘new moon,’ even though I think it is crap, and writing this rather random and possibly boring post (sorry) in an effort to avoid eating the dark orange chocolate that is beckoning to me from the kitchen.
Goodnight :)
Thanks Rachel! I think the recipient will be happy! :)
I loved this post! Keep them coming! That purse is stunning! What a clever girl you have! My favourite bits are the button flowers and the windows!
