On December 31, 2007, we had just arrived at our property for the first time. It was a warm day and we walked the perimeter of our new property in great joy and excitement. It was Monte’s birthday, and at midnight we were sitting by a fire, sipping Moet and talking about our hopes and dreams for our future here at Fangorn.

Exactly three years on, we sat by a fire, sipping Moet, talking about dreams and aspirations… except this time we were surrounded not just by our family, but with wonderful friends. I realised this and made a little ‘announcement’ to the fact.

We have achieved a lot in the past three years, mostly building the house and adding to our family, and making some excellent friendships that will be cherished for ever. It was beautiful to look back and see where we have come, and think about what the future holds for us still.

1/1/11: seeing in the new year with good company, sitting by a warm fire, listening to good music and sipping Moet: perfection :D
