News for Fangorn Farm

From afar I write this post, knowing a few things about the happenings on my property. Although I have had a great time catching up with my beloved friends and family, I am waiting impatiently to go back home to my extra-beloved Monte, the farm and my little animals!

A few things are going on: the house site is being cut (yayayayayayayay!) and we have purchased a caravan, which will extend our living space by providing another kitchen area and bedrooms, making our cabin more like a 3 bedroom cottage, not a 1 bedroom one! Unfortunately, we have lost another chicken: the last remaining ‘Rose’ who was Georgia’s favourite. When we have built another new chookhouse we will extend the chicken population at Fangorn. I would love to have some baby chicks in spring!

In Adelaide I have again caught up with my lovely friends, spending most of my birthday – after taking my children out for breakfast – with Amanda. We had family celebrations on Friday and Saturday, and it was great to catch up with Brooke, who has never forgotten my birthday in the seventeen years I have known her, and who brought me a very delicious cake! It is a nice time for a birthday, with Matthew, mum and me having birthdays so close together. Matty is next and I can’t believe he is two already. He is talking (babbling) away, playing with cars and just wanting to talk to and be with other people. He makes me so clucky again because he is so gorgeous.

We saw our friends Jules and Andrew and their daughters this evening and we are hoping to have another play date again tomorrow, for then I am back to Tasmania! I have enjoyed my time back in Adelaide, but I have not been apart from Monte for my birthday for fifteen years. We have not been apart for this long since 1992. I am looking forward to seeing my little cabin, my plot of pretty pastures and my pets again too!
