Georgia and Matthew have the chicken pox. Although we have been and will be seeing some friends this Easter, we are pretty much keeping low key. I was planning to go to church, but we won’t now. Georgia has probably already infected her entire class without us even knowing she had the darn thing.
I am annoyed because Georgia has been vaccinated against the chicken pox. Matty hasn’t though. Doesn’t seem to make any difference anyway! I have certainly had it, but there are doubts has to whether Monte has had it. He says he has but his parents say he hasn’t. He is a bit under the weather at present but I think he will be fine.
I am looking forward to egg hunts tomorrow. The children will be fine. Matthew is a bit tired and grumpy but Georgia is better now. She is just scratching at some of her itchy sores. Nobody will complain about eating chocolate. I keep talking with Georgia about what Easter really means. She understands that we have eggs because chickens come out of eggs and that symbolises new life which represents Jesus rising from the tomb at Easter. I think that is a very complex concept for a 4 year old to grasp, but she gets it!
It is very unfortunate they contracted chicken pox. I received another letter reminding me to have Grace’s five-year-old booster shot. Shouldn’t have put it off because now it is overdue. We had a lovely time camping in Milang. On Sunday attended a dawn Easter service run collectively by four Uniting Churches in the area. A stark contrast at 10am a man with a loud speaker walked through the park collecting children to help him find the Easter bunny….A well rounded Easter I think.
