We had friends over for a vegetarian BBQ last night. I wished that we could have served fresh veges from our own vege patch. It will be a while before we are up to that! We had a great time. We drank beers whilst the children played (their children are the same ages as ours). The boys went for a 4wd around our property. We cooked and ate our dinner by a bonfire. Then we sat around talking for hours, the children gradually falling asleep on our laps. It was so good to have friends over – such similar others; people who live nearby who can come over whenever they please, people who we can visit and help and ask for help, borrow gennies and trailers and discuss houseplans. It just adds even more to our knowledge that we are doing the right thing by coming here and changing our lifestyle.
This is a part of my lifestyle I must share: this morning I took Georgia to the car so Monte could take her to school. I did not forget to stop – even though I was in my nightie and it was cold – to look at my view. The sun was shining on the hills; there was mist and the dew wa sparkling like diamonds on the lush green grass. This was my morning, this is my day and this is my new life and I love it.
Your blog is beautiful, authentic and honest. When I read it I feel like you are not so far away. I will write soon.
