Fabric Friday: dreaming of Liberty

Published by Rebecca on January 25, 2013

I didn’t get around to sorting through fabric and creating something for my ‘Fabric Friday’ today, due to various things, including preparing some baked goods for Geeveston’s fundraiser for the victims of the recent bushfires in Tasmania.

However, I have had the chance to do some Internet ‘window’ shopping. I have been browsing through Etsy, looking at some lovely Liberty Tana Lawn pieces. I just love Liberty fabric, with its delicate details, gorgeous colours and beautiful quality.

I have sworn off from buying fabric this year. I have SO much to use and no more space to store additions to my stash. I am not going to purchase any of the fabric I looked at (although I really really wanted to!). If I was to buy just one piece though, it would be this one:

It is a vintage piece. It is just the sort of thing I would love to buy, with its colours and flowers and birds. I just love it.

I am wondering about collecting textiles during our trip overseas this May. I have intentions of collecting beautiful pieces and framing them and making a gorgeous colourful wall of art in our sunny family room…
