Fabric Friday – brights

Kids are great to sew for. I asked Matthew to choose any fabric he liked so I could sew pants for his cousin. He chose this one. And he asked for some pants of his own!

It’s such a bright fabric. It’s from my grandmother’s fabric stash. Matthew wears these pants all the time, usually with a very bright top, like this bright orange ‘bob the builder’ t-shirt. He also has a fluorescent yellow ‘spongebob’ t-shirt that he wears with them. Yep!

The great thing about sewing clothes for children is that they can let their style and personality develop and show by having some ownership over what they wear. You can tell a lot about Matty from these shorts, can’t you. You can tell he’s awesome, can’t you.

Oh, to be young and carefree.
