I took the children for an adventure in our forest. The expressions on their faces were beautiful as we were discussing how the forest is our backyard.

We had a little walk through the forest together. It always reminds me of the day we arrived here, and we all walked the perimeter of our property. We were so very excited! I remember the day so clearly (31/12/2007) – now 4 years ago! I wrote about our first day here.

It’s certainly the case that there are moments that really clarify the reasons we moved here. Seeing and hearing my lovely, adventurous children frolic in the forest made me feel so glad we are giving them this healthy, fun and active life.

My photos cannot capture the true beauty of the forest. They don’t film the birdsong or the fresh breeze, but they do almost capture the filtering light on the silvery trees.
