Yes indeedy. Our plan is to move in this Friday – two more sleeps!!!

The house looks amazing. We’ve cleaned up the floors and they look really good! Monte put the blinds up in the bedrooms, which are now lovely and dark. We have the hot water system up and running – lovely hot showers and baths, although no plumbing in the vanities or other sinks yet.

We’re awaiting the kitchen benchtops. They should arrive by next Friday. The appliances, apart from the fridge, are meant to be coming this week. The hold-up with the appliances has been the fridge – an Electrolux monster. It’s taking a long time to get to the warehouse, apparently. All the other appliances will arrive shortly and I cannot wait to have the dishwasher plumbed in. Woot!

Re plumbing, we found one via our builder. He is doing a good job and we’re so happy that was organised with such short notice. All the wiring is done, so the house has lights and power.

It’s unbelievable, really. I’m pinching myself because this Friday I will start living in the home that has taken a few years of dreaming, planning and building. The children are also very excited. Georgia has been a bit ratty because she is so thrilled to be moving into her new room that she loves so much. Matthew has been in tears because he wants to “go up the hill NOW” to sleep in his new room.

The next step: move beds and other bits up to the house. I don’t work on Thursdays and Fridays, so over the next few days Monte and I will be moving stuff up the hill and setting up beds and couches…
