We’re so close. The electrician will finish up this weekend (apparently) but we have had a problem with the plumber and we have to find a new one! Benchtops will arrive in three weeks or less. We finally decided on the colour! Monte has had to re-do the kitchen after our builder did an unsatisfactory job. We need to replace the vanity top of the bathroom vanity. We need to grout the living room floor, after the builder left that job to us and there is lots of cleaning up to – mostly outside.

The bathrooms are pretty much done, as are the bedrooms, bar a bit more floor mopping and window-washing. Soon we will bring up some furniture and start unpacking. I cannot wait. And I am frustrated, because, although so much is happening so quickly, it seems to be dragging on a bit. I just want to live in a house, with a room of my own, with blinds to draw at night time, and a flushing toilet.

Our appliances are supposed to arrive tomorrow. I can’t wait to meet the new fridge etc. The dishwasher will be my favourite – only using 12 litres of water per wash, and washing big amounts – it’s gonna be a bloody winner.
