It seems like so long ago now. It was the first weekend of winter, to be precise, so almost 2 months ago (isn’t it marvellous that we are almost in the last month of winter!?).
It was a sunny day and we decided to go on a little Bushwalk. Alum cliffs is in Kingston, so it is not very far away for us. I first went on this Bushwalk on an excursion with some of our grade 6 students. It was so pleasant and fun that I suggested it would be a good walk for our family – easy terrain for even our youngest child (although I did end up carrying her in the Ergobaby for most of the time!).
It was a fun walk. Everybody enjoyed it. The views were beautiful. Matthew liked exploring off the track. We visited the Brickfields Probation Station at Browns River, where lots of convicts were put on probation and made bricks out of the Alum in the area. Many of the convicts were freed or made apprentices after their probation. There are still many bricks in the area today!
