Agfest 08

Georgia posing with various machines that made even me want one!

We had a great time at Agfest, in Carrick, this weekend. We drove up to Launceston and stayed with our friends, the Edrichs. It was wonderful to catch up again and the children played energetically until late at night. The adults stayed up late too! I suppose we had a lot to catch up on. Plus, Julie and I compared knitting notes, and Lee kept us entertained with his sense of humour.
Agfest itself was fantastic. We certainly saw a lot of things. The festival was much bigger than any show I have ever seen. There were tractors and animals and food and tools and ropes and – my favourite – four massive sheds of crafts! It was hard to take it all in in one day. We were there for over six hours and the children were well behaved, considering. Our friends Tanya, Jamahl, Tao and Kai walked around with us.
At one point I must have been complaining about all the “boy stuff” at the show. Tanya offered to convert me to a tomboy and I quickly declined. Having said that, however, it was really interesting to see all the farm stuff and we did get several good buys. Monte got some tools and a fishing rod, and I bought some dolls, Alpaca fleece and beanie and we both bought oil skin coats, made popular by RM Williams.
After a busy weekend and a lot of driving, we then visited Ben and Jill at their new home. We had a lovely lunch “dinner party.” We now feel very tired and exhausted and fatigued. Georgia and Matty are fast asleep and I am heading in that vein also…
